The following reflects applicable system-wide tuition and fees and nonresident tuition for the semester for undergraduate, credential, graduate, postbaccalaureate and doctoral programs. Cash, personal check, or certified funds may be used for payment of student tuition and fees. For credit card, electronic check payments, or International Bank Transfer payment options please access the Bursar's Office webpage at https://bursar.sfsu.edu/students/fee-payment-methods for more information.
Mandatory system-wide tuition fees are waived for those individuals who qualify for such exemption under the provisions of the California Education Code (see section on fee waivers).
CSU Schedule of Tuition and Fees 2025-26
The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Tuition and fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU reserves the right, even after tuition or fees are initially charged or initial payments are made, to increase or modify any listed tuition or fees. All listed fees, other than mandatory systemwide tuition, are subject to change without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU-listed tuition and fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the chancellor or the presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory systemwide tuition will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028 – 66028.6 of the Education Code).

Application fee (nonrefundable), payable online at the time of application via credit card or PayPal: $70
Mandatory systemwide tuition is waived for those individuals who qualify for such an exemption under the provisions of the California Education Code (see section on fee waivers).
Students are charged campus fees in addition to tuition and systemwide fees. Information on campus fees can be found by contacting the individual CSUs.

The summer term tuition for the education doctorate at quarter universities is equal to the per semester tuition listed in the table. Total tuition for the education doctorate over the college year equals the per academic year tuition plus the per semester tuition for the summer term at all CSUs.
